From Aston with Love: DB5 Continuation

Worth its weight in Goldfinger

Skyfall for this Spectre from the past. You'll have No Time to Die if you were one of the lucky ones who gets their hands on one of these DB5 Continuation specials. In fact, you might wish You could Only Live Twice.

When viewers first laid their Goldeneyes on this now iconic Bond car back in 1964, The World was not Enough. Buyers - some of which may have been willing to give up a Thunderball for one - lined up at Aston Martin dealers trying to get their hands on a DB5, largely thanks to Bond's on-screen heroics in the car.

These Continuation models are intended to be a mostly faithful replication of the Goldfinger movie car - complete with gadgets. Those include revolving number plates, smokescreen and oil stick delivery systems, a simulated radar tracker and of course, the shifter-mounted ejector seat button.

For most of us, its For Our Eyes Only. And it's the same case for this Continuation model. Limited to only 25 units - none of which are road legal - we'd have to hit up Casino Royale to even dream of a chance of affording its £2.75-million price tag. But even then, it wouldn't matter. They were all spoken for when Aston Martin announced them last year. Until one of us finds one in a barn 60 years from now, we'll just have to Live and Let Die.

...The Man with the Golden Pun.
