Old School New
The glory days of Motorsport. So hot right now. In recent years we had some surprisingly mainstream examples of a revisit to that era - a documentary on Ayrton Senna, and Hollywood productions of some infamous feuds, just to name a few. (these are actually the only three I could think of)
Filmmaker Nick Shirrell took a different approach. At the behest of Ferrari, he was flown out to Italy where he put a classic spin on typical race coverage. Using a 8mm film spooled through a Kodak Super8 camera, he documented the Ferrari Challenge at Mugello using his 50-year-old gear. Coupled with voice actor Alan Baxter's vintage vocals, this modern race took a beautifully classic turn.
