White Whale / Longtail: Rare McLaren F1 GTR for sale

1 of 10. But also 1 of 2. And also #1

It’s hard enough to be on the market for a McLaren F1. It was arguably the ultimate road car of the 90s – and in terms of sheer speed, it still holds its own today as the fastest naturally aspirated production car to grace our streets. It’s certainly held up well in design – both inside and out – with a slippery, aerodynamic but surprisingly subtle exterior and possibly the most driver-focused interior we’ve seen in a car that still gives you a decent amount of luxury and room for two passengers. We’re of course talking about that unique centre-seat setup.

Now, the F1 is a rare enough car with 64 road going versions produced. Even rarer is this F1 GTR ‘Longtail’ edition – with only 10 of these racing units produced. To make things even more rare, this particular Longtail is one of two converted to be street legal. And for some extra rarity on top of all that, it’s the very first Longtail to be produced.

Listed at UK dealer Tom Hartley Jnr, the Longtail features no firm price. It’s very much a case of “if you have to ask, you can’t afford it.”

Wish me luck folks.
